Mysteriet med Mona Lisas gåtfulla leende kan snart vara löst. Italienska arkeologer tror sig ha funnit skallen som ska ha tillhört konstnären Leonardo da Vincis berömda modell, under ett kloster i Florens. Om man lyckas säkerställa att kvinnoskallen i Lisa Gherardini del Giocondos grav är den verkliga Mona Lisa ska man försöka återuppbygga ansiktet och därmed kanske förstå det mytomspunna leendet. Leonardo da Vinci målade porträttet cirka 1503-1506.
